Wenge is a heavy dense wood is highly resistant to abrasion. It has high bending strength, low stiffness, medium crushing strength and a low steam bending rating. The wood works well with both machine and hand tools and has a moderate blunting effect on cutting edges. A satisfactory finish can be achieved by using a grain filler.

My Thoughts: |
I have used Wenge as an accent coolor on several projects, I think it turns nicely, it sands and finishes well, I have never used a grain filler with it. It stands out nicely when used with Ash, Purpleheart, and Padauk. I look forward to using it more in the future. |
